Distinguished Professor

Faculty Member Named Distinguished Professor 

Linda Davis, assistant professor of Computer and Information Science at William Woods University, received the Louis D. Beaumont Dad’s Association Distinguished Professor Award for Excellence in Teaching at the university’s academic convocation April 23.

The award carries a $3,000 honorarium and is given annually to a faculty member who has displayed dedication to teaching. Davis, a Fulton resident, has taught at the university since 1990. Before that, she was computer coordinator at the Missouri School for the Deaf for six years. 

Davis received a bachelor of science degree in education from the University of Nebraska and certification for education of the hearing impaired K-12 at Lenoir Rhyne College in Lenoir, N.C. She earned a master of arts in educational administration, a specialist in educational administration and a Ph.D. in information science and learning technology, all from the University of Missouri.
